NANOGrav's Fall 2025 Collaboration Meeting

The meeting will take place Monday - Wednesday (November 17^th - 19^th) within the normal business hours of the Mountain Time Zone. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting where attendees can attend in person or via Zoom during our recorded science talks, invited guest speaker presentations, and panels.

The main meeting sessions will be hosted by the University of Montana's Department of Physics and Astronomy and to be held at UoM's James Todd Building, which houses its Office of Research.

Travel Information

This conference is being hosted in Missoula, Montana, located on the western edge of the state close to the Rocky Mountains.

Getting To/From the Airport

Travelers should plan to fly into the Missoula Montana Airport (MSO). MSO is served year-round by Alaska Airlines (Seattle), American Airlines (Dallas Fort Worth), Delta Airlines (Salt Lake City, Minneapolis/St. Paul), and United Airlines (Denver).

Missoula Montana Airport is 8.1 miles from the University of Montana Campus. The easiest way to access the airport is via rideshare service (Uber/Lyft) or hotel shuttle. The Comfort Inn and Double Tree provide free airport shuttles; the Residence Inn does not. 
There is a also free Mountain Line bus from the airport to Downtown Missoula and its route schedule can be found here.

Exploring Missoula

Lodging Information

Our primary hotel will be the Residence Inn by Marriott Missoula Downtown with the Comfort Inn University serving as our secondary hotel. If additional rooms are needed, the LOC suggests the DoubleTree by Hilton Missoula. 

All three hotels are about one mile from the James E. Todd Building, with the Residence Inn and DoubleTree located along the #1 and #12 Bus Lines, which offer service to UM Campus. Walking directions for each hotel are as follows:

Residence Inn

We have reserved a courtesy block with the Residence Inn by Mariott at the negotiated pre-tax price of $130/night for a Double Queen Suite w/ Kitchen. We have reserved a courtesy block with the Comfort Inn at the negotiated pre-tax prices of $109/night for a King Suite and $114/night for a Double Queen Suite. Conference Schedule

Student Introductory Workshop

Our regularly-scheduled student workshop will take place November 15^th - 16^th. This will feature introductory talks, a career panel, and python-based tutorials for NANOGrav science topics. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their laptops with them regardless of processing strength as much of the interactive portions of the workshop will be accessed through the NANOGrav Notebook Server. 

The workshop will take place at UC Room 330/331. Each day will provide attendees with morning coffee/tea as well as a lunch buffet.

Additionally, we will have a networking event for student attendees at the University of Montana's Gaming Den on Sunday evening starting at 6:00 PM local time. This event is open for all students attending either the Student Workshop or the Science Meeting (or both).

Science Meeting

The Science Meeting portion of the conference will consist of three full days, featuring talks from collaboration members, open discussion sessions, an invited speaker, and poster presentations. 

A detailed block schedule will be provided shortly.

The meeting will take place in JET 203/204. Each day will provide attendees with morning coffee/tea as well as a lunch buffet.

Conference Networking Reception

Our annual conference reception will be located at the University Commons (Room 330/331/332), on Monday, November 17th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM local time. The menu features a wide range of appetizers and hors d'oeuvres which covers the diverse dietary restrictions of our members. In addition, the reception will feature a cash bar featuring a full selection of locally brewed beers, house wines, and assorted sodas.

Host Institution's Land Acknowledgement
